Hydropower myths

Large dam projects have always been a source of controversy. They can control flooding, create jobs, generate low cost electricity, and improve navigation. Dams can also inundate large natural areas upstream from the dam, displace entire communities, disrupt downstream riparian ecosystems, and accelerate erosion.
