Refinery accidents
Oil refineries process large volumes of crude oil into a vast array of fuels and materials on an nearly 24/7 basis. Nearly all of these are volatile, combustible, toxic, and hazardous. Not surprisingly, refineries have been the site of some of society's worst industrial accidents.
