Concordia, Charles

an American electrical engineer widely regarded as the most influential power systems engineer. He developed what is known as power system dynamics that resulted in substantial improvements in planning, operation, and security of extended power systems. He also made fundamental insights into turbine and generator design and performance, load behavior under normal and disturbance conditions, system control and protection, as well as the analysis of power blackouts. Much of this work was done at General Electric from 1926 until 1973. To this day his Synchronous Machines (1951) remains an authoritative book on the subject.
